Norfolk Police Museum

The Norfolk Police Department, established in 1797, is one of the oldest in the United States. The Norfolk Police Museum, established in 1919, is the oldest museum inNorfolk. Its purpose is to document and preserve the history of NPD and those who have served. The Museum is located at 401 E. Freemason St. in front of MacArthur Mall.

On display are extensive exhibits of early photographs, uniforms, badges, patches, firearms, handcuffs and other equipment used by the police department from its inception until now, as well as a memorial to our fallen officers.

The Museum is presently open Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Sunday 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm. For info, call 757-441-1526.
